Pets affected by Hurricaine Harvey need our help

Many people who have evacuated the Houston area have had to take their pets with them with little to no preparation. While first responders have rescued 2000 plus people, friends and neighbors rescued more and many left town just before the storm. Many people will have lost their belongings due to flooding.

We are accepting donations of new dog collars, leashes, harnesses, dog beds, cat beds, blankets, sherpa type carriers, toys, and national chain pet store gift cards (food is very heavy to ship). We will ship the items to the San Antonio branch of the Red Cross who will make sure they get given out to the people who need it most.

We are hoping to send a shipment tomorrow afternoon, of what we buy and what you can bring in. I know that Houston-area pet owners (and those of Rockport, Corpus Christi, and other cities in eastern Texas and Louisiana will appreciate all the help we can give so they won’t need to worry about their pets as they go thru the recovery process.

Thank you for all your help. We are open from 7 am until 6 pm. Let everyone know (your pet doesn’t have to come here to bring something in).

If you’d like to donate to the Red Cross directly (either monetary donation or donations of new clothing, toiletries, etc) please contact them.

Thank you

Dr. Horn
